10 Influential Women in the Digital Marketing World
I was recently scrolling through my emails and came upon an article of the top 25 most influential digital marketers. There were some truly inspirational and knowledgable people included in that list, BUT 85% of the list was men! That got me thinking... this isn't a true representation of the digital marketing landscape and the top performers in it. I work with some pretty incredible women in this field everyday.
With that in mind, I want to give a shoutout to some fellow women who are changing the game in digital marketing.
Here is a list of the top 10 most influential women in digital marketing right now. In no particular order.
1. Heidi Cohen
Heidi's list of achievements is impressive. She is the Chief Content Officer of the Actionable Marketing Guide, an award winning blog. Heidi has worked for many well known companies such as Citibank, Bertelsmann and The Economist and she is the President of Riverside Marketing Strategies, a firm that helps business's like The New York Times thrive.
2. Aleyda Solis
Aleyda is a well known SEO consultant, author, and speaker, as well as the owner of the SEO firm Orainti. She has been included in Forbes Top 10 Marketing Experts to follow and has been interviewed by major publications. Entrepreneur also named Aleyda one of the 50 Online Marketing Influencers to Follow in 2016.
3. Bernadette Jiwa
Bernadette Jiwa has numerous best-selling books on marketing and branding under her belt, including; Make Your Idea Matter, Fortune Cookie Principal, and Marketing: A love story. She is often thought of as a go-to consultant in the industry and has worked with many businesses in this role.
4. Shama Hyder
Shama Hyder is Founder and CEO of Zen Media and the author of The Zen of Social Media Marketing. When Shama isn't traveling the globe speaking at events, you can catch her on TV or the web sharing her knowledge with the masses.
5. Brooks Bell
Brooks is your go-to gal for everything with conversion optimization. She is the Founder & CEO of Brooks Bell, a firm she started in the early 2000's, well before digital marketing was the thing to do. For this reason, she is seen as a leader and influencer in the digital marketing world.
6. Ann Hadley
I had the pleasure of seeing Ann speak at HubSpot's Inbound conference, and she was definitely a highlight of my time there. Ann is the author of the bestseller, Everybody Writes, as well as the Head of Content at Marketing Profs. She was also named one of the seven people shaping modern marketing by IBM.
7. Maryna Hradovich
Maryna is one of the founding members of SEMrush, one of the key SEO softwares available today. She was awarded the 2016 SmartCEO Philadelphia Circle of Excellence Award as well as a 2017 SmartCEO Future50! Award.
8. Nicole Walters
Nicole is the Founder and CEO of The Monetized Life, a product development consulting firm. She founded The Monetized Life after leaving a high profile executive job because it wasn't feeding her passions. It was widely successful within the first couple of weeks and she's never looked back. She now hosts a very popular online course called 1K1Day.
9. Ann Smarty
Ann is an accomplished SEO and blogger. She is currently the Brand and Community Manager at Internet Marketing Ninjas and a Co-Founder of ViralContentBuzz.com, as well as the Founder of MyBlogU, MyBlogGuest, TwChat, and many more.
10. Alex Hisaka
Alex is considered a growth hacker in all things digital marketing. She is currently the Head of Content for LinkedIn, but also knows the ins and out of SEO, copywriting, social media, and lead generation. She has been featured and interviewed by many top publications and is a go-to thought leader in the industry.
These ten women are just a small number of the influential women that are kicking a** in the digital marketing world. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the incredible group of women I get to work with at AdVision day in and day out. They are creating amazing work and constantly pushing boundaries.
